STAR Neighborhood Association
Promoting the social welfare of the residents by Sharing The Area’s Resources.
STAR has been incorporated since 1981. The boundaries are Tennessee Street on the north, Lloyd Expressway on the south, Fulton Avenue on the west, and First Avenue to the east.
We have approximately 83 individual and family memberships in addition to 27 businesses and organization memberships. Here in STAR Neighborhood, residents have come together to help assure all of us a healthy, enjoyable, and safe place to live.
We sponsor several projects throughout the year including potluck dinners, a rummage sale, a summer picnic, National Night Out, beautification projects, tire pickups, and our Children’s Christmas Party. The Children’s Christmas Party is a special project that is done every year. We have children within the Weed & Seed area attend. They are given a meal, treat bags, and several nice gifts while being entertained and greeted by Santa.
Bud Goodsen, previous President of STAR, also holds the distinct honor of being the first President of United Neighborhoods of Evansville. His experience and leadership with STAR helped lead UNOE to become a vibrant organization.
STAR Neighborhood Association meets on the first Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. Every month we have a different guest speaker who talks about areas of interest to our neighborhood. Come join us and meet your neighbors! Neighborhoods are back!
